Almond Butter Morning Porridge

I just adore almond butter!  This porridge is so scrumptious and will give you the fuel to get your day started!  I blended this recipe into a porridge consistency, but if you would rather have it be a bit chunkier, just mix it by hand.  You could also use any kind of nut butter that you prefer.  You just can’t go wrong with nut butters.

Ingredients:

Yields 1 serving

Garnish ideas:

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients into the blender, except for 1/2 a sliced banana and raisins and mix well.
  2. Allow mixture to rest overnight in the fridge or allow it to sit on the counter for 1 hour.

Should the oats be soaked and dehydrated, soaked overnight or unsoaked oats for this recipe? It sounds like a good breakfast.

For such a small amount Marlene I wouldn’t worry about it… but if you eat oats on a regular basis then I would at least soak them, no need to dehydrate them if you are going to use them right away. Have a wonderful evening, amie sue

    Absolutely perfect :)

Hi. I woke up late this morning so my oats have been soaking for 12 hours. Is this too long to eat safely?
    Thanks much!

Hi Christi… I don’t know if it’s to late to answer at this point. I wasn’t near my computer most of today. The oats should be fine, look, smell and taste to see. Have a great day, amie sue

    Hi Aime!

This recipe is one of my favorites now! Thank you. I was curious, how long is the fridge life of this porridge?

      Good afternoon Meghan,

I am glad that you are enjoying this porridge. I would give the shelf life about 2 days. I don’t really know because it always gets eaten up right away. :) Have a great evening, amie sue
