Taco Seasoning (raw, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free)

Creating your own taco seasoning allows you to just barely cross over the Mexican border or it can take you into the very depths of Old Mexico.   This culinary journey is in your hands.  Today, I created a zesty blend of my own Mexican seasonings.  It took my Raw Lentil Tacos  from ordinary to a fiesta of flavor.  My spice mix  has a hearty flavor that’s not too spicy but is warm enough to complement my cravings for South of the Border dishes.


Yields 3 Tbsp

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked  paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • pinch ground cinnamon


  1. Mix all ingredients in a mason jar, tighten lid and shake together.
  2. This recipe will make extra for future creations.  I have a feeling that you will want to use this again. :)
