Do you ever find yourself eating the same topping on your porridge over and over…day in, day out? It’s easy to get stuck in a rut. Been there, done that, the T-shirt never came as promised. In today’s post, I will be sharing some ideas with you…just enough to get the creative juices flowing. If you have a favorite, please post down below in the comments and I will add it to the list. I just ask that you give the measurements for single servings.
Before we can add toppings, we need a healthy foundation for our porridge bowls. Here are some ideas:
Now, let’s tickle our tastebuds with some amazing flavors!
- Almond Joy – Add a splash of coconut milk, top with raw chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped almonds.
- Apple Pie – Top with chopped fresh diced apple, cinnamon, and honey or sweetener of choice.
- Berries and Cream – Stir in 1/4 cup fresh berries, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/4 cup raw yogurt.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter – 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and peanut butter, mixed with 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup.
- Honey Nut ‘n’ Oats – Stir in 1 tablespoon honey and top with pecans or walnuts.
- Granola and Yogurt – Top with 3 tablespoons of granola and add a dollop of plant-based yogurt.
- Peanut Butter Banana Maple Swirl – 1 tablespoon peanut butter, maple syrup to taste, and cinnamon sprinkled on top.
- Pumpkin Pie – Combine 3 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon raisins, 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon each of cinnamon and nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger.
- Tropical Dance – Stir in a tablespoon coconut butter, chopped pineapple, sliced banana, and a splash of coconut milk.
- Vanilla Maple – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup.
