~ raw, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free ~
This is a wonderfully thick and creamy dressing. Sunflower seeds enhance your health by supplying significant amounts of vitamin E, magnesium, and selenium.
Since sunflower seeds have a high-fat content and are prone to rancidity, it is best to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can also be stored in the freezer since the cold temperature will not greatly affect their texture or flavor.
Sunflower seeds are not commonly known to be an allergen food so it is a great sub for nuts. Even though sunflower seeds are high in oils there are only 46 grams of fat in this complete recipe! I broke it down to .7 grams of fat per tbsp. You can’t complain about that. This will all depend on the amount of water that you add.
This afternoon I made my husband a large salad with this dressing and he just loved it. This dressing compliments the crouton recipe that I have called, Italian Seasoned Croutons. Each bite is packed full of flavor. I hope you enjoy this recipe. Blessings, amie sue
Hey Amie Sue! The link for the French Garden Seasoning has expired – what is it, and is it possible to substitute specific herbs? Thanks so much for all the good food!
Sarah,
Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention. Amazon changed their link or it just fell off the link wagon. haha I fixed it so it should be working once again! But also to answer what a person could use as a substitute…. well let’s see, the ingredients in this particular seasoning mix is; INGREDIENTS: Spices, Sea Salt, Garlic, Onion, Parsley, Citric Acid, Chives, and Natural Lemon Juice Powder. I love the mix and it is sugar free. You could use a typical Italian seasoning mix that is readily available as well. I hope this helps Sarah. Have a great day, amie sue
Hello Amie Sue,
Another winner!!! Made this tonight (for Gene to take over the road in his cooler). I loved it !!! Thank you again, :] Lyn
It just warms my heart Lyn… to imagine Gene, out on the road, trucking those long miles and tucked in his cooler is a raw salad dressing. :) Thank you for sharing that with me. hugs
Hey Amie Sue!
Just made this tonight. It was absolutely delicious!!
Have you ever made a caesar styled dressing? Would love it if you had a recipe for one ;)
Good morning Millie,
It is amazing, isn’t it? I love this recipe. I am so thrilled that you gave it a try. I have made caesar dressings in the past, but I don’t think I ever did a write up for it. Let me dig around and see if I can find it. :) Have a glorious day! amie sue
Hello Amie Sue,
I just made this dressing tonight and it was such a nice flavorful dressing. Store bought dressings that I thought I liked cannot compare to this one. I’ve made a few of your condiments and they are great!
I made my own Italian Garden seasonings following your reply above.
I kept the dressing on the creamy side.
Tomorrow the flavors will really pop through! I will be sharing with my co-workers. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Good morning Vicotoria, What a pleasure to hear from you. :) I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the dressing. You can really play around with it, giving it new life with different spices and herbs. I hope your co-workers enjoyed it to. Love and blessings, amie sue
HI Amie Sue,
So Happy to have found your website. It is absolutely wonderful. You are such a blessing. What an encouragement
for those who want to get healthy and make a life style change. You really do help simplify the raw food lifestyle….
I am interested in making the French Italian Dill Dressing
but am having difficulty finding where to buy the french Garden seasoning. I tried Amazon and they only have the Italian seasoning available and I googled it and didn’t have much luck. Do your know if they stopped making it?
Was so excited about purchasing all three after you sharing it with all of us. Thought it was great it was Gluten Free. If it is know longer to be found could you recommend something else to take its place. Thank you for your help.
Good morning Maureen,
Thank you for all the wonderful message this morning. No better way to start the day / week off with!
And you are right, that particular seasoning isn’t in stock atm. I did sign up to be notified when it is back in stock. I hope it comes back… these are some of my favorite-go-to spices. I would just recommend using this one: https://nouveauraw.com/spices-seasonings-flavorings/homemade-dressings-italian-garden-salad-dressing-mix-rub-3-3-ounce-container/ until they get the other one back in stock.
Keep me posted if you give the recipe a try. Many blessings, amie sue
Thank You Amie Sue for getting back with me.
I will look forward to hearing when they are
back in stock.
Will do Maureen :)
Does this mean 2 cups dry sunflower seeds, then soaked or 2 cups soaked sunflower seeds?
Good day Rhonda,
The recipe reads, “2 cups sunflower seeds, soaked” which means measure out 2 cups of sunflower seeds and then soak them. If the measurement were for two cups of soaked sunflower seeds, it would read, “2 cups of soaked sunflower seeds.”
Have a great day, amie sue
