Every Good Recipe Has an Ending

LoadingFavoriteAdd to favorites
Dear NouvueaRaw Family,

After much reflection, I’ve made the tough decision to close NouveauRaw.com. Since 2008, this little corner of the internet has been my creative playground, my test kitchen, and often, my therapy. From zucchini noodles to blender explosions that redecorated my ceiling, it’s been a delicious, sometimes unpredictable, and always meaningful ride!

In March 2022, I transitioned the site to free access, removing membership fees to ensure that everyone could benefit from the content, regardless of financial circumstances. This decision was influenced by the challenges many faced during the COVID. It was my desire for healthful, whole-food inspiration to be shared, especially during times when the world needed a little more comfort food.

One of the greatest joys has been sharing not just recipes, but the stories behind them—my daily creations, my beautiful culinary flops (looking at you, buckwheat “bread brick”), and the moments that made us laugh, cry, and crave kale chips at 2 AM. The comment section often felt like a potluck where we all showed up with love and curiosity… and maybe a few too many date-sweetened desserts.

But what has truly meant the most to me is getting to know each and every one of you. Whether it was through a shared love of raw cheesecake, a recipe question, an email to just shoot the breeze, or a kind message on a tough day—you welcomed me into your kitchens and your hearts. I’ve been endlessly inspired by your stories, your creativity, your love, and your warmth. I never expected to build a community that felt this much like family.

Now, after 17 years of mixing, blending, and taste-testing, it’s time to hang up the apron—at least in this space. While I’ve loved nurturing and maintaining the site, the ongoing cost of running it has grown beyond what this humble kitchen can sustain. Between hosting fees, paid plugins, and IT support (a.k.a. the magical Chris who rescued me from digital disasters), it’s become more than banana ice cream and raw cheesecakes can fund. If only servers could live on smoothies…

NouveauRaw.com will remain online up until July 15th, 2025, giving you a little time to revisit the archives and download your favorite recipes. I encourage you to save (to your computer) the creations that have inspired or nourished you—whether they’re everyday staples or those sweet treats you turn to for comfort. Go ahead—hoard that kale chip recipe like it’s going out of style (because it kind of is).
****UPDATE****

Over the past few months, I’ve been dealing with some unexpected family emergencies that have required my full attention. As a result, I haven’t had the time to take the necessary steps to shut the site down properly.

It’s not as simple as just pushing a button and—poof—it’s gone. Well… technically it is, but I don’t want to risk losing all the content I’ve created over the years. All that to say—the site will remain up for now, until I have the time to work through everything carefully. So, until then… please continue to enjoy it! And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming. 😊

Though the website is coming to a close, it’s my hope that this isn’t goodbye forever. My goal is to continue sharing my recipes in new ways—whether it be through eBooks, or (fingers crossed) a hardcover cookbook down the road. I also look forward to shifting some of my energy into teaching more live classes, where I can connect more personally and share the joys of wholesome, creative food face-to-face —laughing, learning, and possibly flinging bits of raw dough across the room (no promises).

And before I wrap up, I want to give a special thank you to my amazing husband—my number one fan, fearless taste tester, and unwavering partner through it all. He’s cheered me on through every recipe triumph and every gooey, green, questionably textured experiment. His love, support, and very patient palate made so much of this journey possible.

And to my sweet mother—who spent her vacations elbow-deep in soapy water, washing endless towers of dishes while I disappeared into recipe-testing mode. Day after day, she scrubbed, rinsed, and dried until her fingers turned to prunes. Her quiet, humble support allowed me to create with a full heart and an uncluttered sink. I am forever grateful.

Let me wrap this up by saying… Thank you, truly, for being a part of NouveauRaw.com. Whether you tried one recipe or a hundred, shared your triumphs or laughed with me through my flops—you’ve made this journey so much richer. I’m beyond grateful.

With heartfelt gratitude (and maybe with a little kale stuck in my teeth), blessings, amie sue

        • amie-sue says:

I needed that hug today, thank you :) I was combing through the site last night, thinking about ebooks, etc. and I got choked up. Bob asked me what the matter was, and once I fought back the lump in my throat, I said, “It’s starting to feel real.” Shew. Much love to you my friend, hugs. amie sue

  8. Juanita Stocke says:

    Amie Sue,
I will SO much miss your site when it’s gone! I visit it quite a lot to check a recipe —the latest one I made is the nightshade-free ketchup, so delicious! I know I will be making it again! And the yummy pumpkin cheesecake! And the apple pie! And the “seafood” enchiladas! And more that I will be trying! I will be very busy downloading! I still need to try the Swedish limpa bread recipe I requested—it will be next!
Thank you for all you have done for us over the years!!!
Sending love and prayers your way always! And I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. ❣️

    • amie-sue says:

      Good day Juanita,

Girl, you are making me tear up. I knew this step was going to be emotional (I’ve been experiencing it since the day I had to make this decision) but as I mentioned above, the costs to keep it up are significant, so times have to change. I hope that I can find it in me to publish much of what is on my site so my work can keep on working. :) Thank you for all the kind words. Much love and blessings, amie sue

  9. Veronica says:

Oh, Amie Sue, that’s truly the end of an era. It is a little sad, but I understand your decision, everything has its time. I started following you 2009 I think.. and we’ve had contact on and off during the years. A little less lately since I’m not on FB that often, and I am not good with plants so I can’t contribute to that subject 😊.

I already have so many of your recipes saved, but I wish I could download the entire recipe section! If you decide to make an e-book I would definitely buy it. And I agree with Jeanette about the hardcover, let us know immediately, and do sign it!!

    Lots of love 💕
    Veronica

    • amie-sue says:

      Oh sweet Veronica,

I have always enjoyed our interactions. I will never forget when we emailed one another all the time to support each other as we reduced our sugar intake. You have always been such a dear heart and a blessing to me. I still have and use my cheese cutter! :) I will keep you all posted if I can get my act together to create some books, of some format! In the meantime, please keep in touch. You can always email me at [email protected]. much love and blessings, amie sue

  10. DeAnna Cabarcas says:

Please create a cookbook or multiple cookbooks! I couldn’t possibly download all the recipes that I never got around to trying, though I did try quite a few! Please put out multiple cookbooks and let us know. I’m staying on your list!

You will be missed for sure. I never interacted with you very much, if at all, but you have always been a staple in my health-food journey. I always thought of you as the creme-de-la-creme of the raw food world! Thanks for everything you do. Looking forward to your next chapters!

    • amie-sue says:

      Good day DeAnna,

Thank you so much for sweet loving words, they mean a lot to me. You all are giving me the much needed motivation to get some books lined up… somehow, someway… it would be a dream come true for me. I have loved every moment of this journey that Nouveauraw has opened for me. You can always reach out to me via email at [email protected] :) many blessings to you and your family, amie sue

I have been the sporadic visitor to your site and have to say I’m really sad to see it close. It has been a source of inspiration for me as well. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us <3 All the best in this new chapter for you. I will defitely keep checking for your new publication e-book or hard cover. All the best!

    • amie-sue says:

      Good afternoon Sandra,

I so appreciate the kind words, they mean a lot to me. I think I can smell those kale chips from here! :) It’s hard to believe that Nouveauraw is 17 years old… what an amazing adventure. I have learned so much through my work but more so from everyone who visited my site. To say I was blessed, is putting it mildly. I will work hard on getting the site converted into ebooks. That would be my next dream for this site. Many blessings, amie sue

  12. Keira Iritano says:

    Dear Amie-Sue,

I just wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the generosity, time, and love you’ve poured into your recipes over the years. Your creativity and kindness have nourished not only bodies but hearts as well. I’ve followed your work for so long, and it’s hard to put into words how much your beautiful offerings have meant to me.

It saddens me to think of not having continued access to the wealth of inspiration you’ve shared so freely. Your presence and creations have been a source of joy, learning, and comfort.

If there’s any way to purchase your collection as an eBook or in any other format, I would be honored to support you and keep a piece of your culinary magic with me.

Above all, I wish you continued success in whatever path you choose next, and a life filled with love, peace, and fulfillment. Thank you for everything you’ve shared with such open-hearted generosity. You’ve made a lasting impact.

    With warmth and appreciation,
    Keira Iritano

    • amie-sue says:

      Good afternoon Keira,

Your message here left tears in my eyes. What a joyful journey this has been for me. I had no clue when I first started my blog that I would be able to interact with so many wonderful poeple, people like YOU. It wasn’t an easy decision getting to this point but the cost of running the site as is, well, it’s just too much. I would love for my work to be “out there” for decades to come… so perhaps I can pull together all the recipes to make ebooks… well, that would help. I too frequent my own site to use recipes, so the easy access will be greatly missed by me as well.

Thank you for all your support and kind words. I will forever cherish them. And thank you for being part of the Nouveauraw Family, it’s a special one for sure! You can always keep in touch by reaching me at [email protected].

      many blessings, amie sue

  13. Adrianne Black says:

    • amie-sue says:

Well, welcome on board to the raw food wagon. :) I am sorry that I am having to close the site down just as you discovered it. I am looking into creating ebook of all my work, so stay posted. blessings on your journey! amie sue

    So sad you are leaving.
I always found something suitable for the many raw celebration meals i made for my spiritual master. and those cakes were fabulous and worked every time I tried. He seemed to like all of it. Be blessed and good luck into your new journey.

    Amie Sue,
I started with Lemon Fennel Bars, and then the sauerkraut bread for mom (german), and every recipe is so interesting and can fit to a allergic diet need of my client as well. I have given your site out so many times, we must know how to get onto your next adventure, I am with you, as my friends are too.

    • amie-sue says:

      Good day Suzanne,

Thank you for sharing that with me. It made my heart smile. There are so many wonderful recipes on the site (I used them too hehe). Thank you for sharing my site with others. It was one of goals to create flexible recipes that could work into an dietary need, which is not always easy… there are a lot of dietary demands out there. :) But it has truly been my honor to have been part of this “family” that found itself in this crazy web-world! I will keep in touch. many blessings, amie sue

Thank you so much Patricia. I appreciate your words and kindness. Reading everyone’s comments regarding the news has been very humbling… I had no idea the depth of how others felt about the site and my work. The last 17 years has taught me so much as I navigated my energy and efforts on the work I put out. Thank you for taking the time to share this with me. blessings and love, amie sue

  19. Penelope says:

Hello AmieSue, I wanted to message and thank you with all my heart for the years you have inspired me with your knowledge of food and your beautiful creative talent. I have valued your website and with your guidance for a number of years. It has opened my son to a healthier and happier appetite for food. He has disabilities that have caused a barrier for him to be able to even touch certain textures. He use to only eat five foods. Now he eats better than many adults. I felt it important that you know just how amazing an effect your journey has had on me and my son. You are incredibly selfless to share what you know freely. I can imagine you are a person with an exceptionally warm heart. I wish you all the best in your new chapter, wherever that takes you, may you keep on shinning, please please if you ever publish anything, let people like myself find you. Because I will be first in the queue for any book. You have been an absolute godsend for me and my boy. I will keep searching your name for anything you might publish. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Whenever I use my dehydrator, I will think of you. You have inspired me to really value ingredients and look at making food in ways I would of never dreamt of before. Thank you for creating a spark in me and for helping my son enjoy foods, foods that are healthy and tasty. My son takes a pack lunch to his special needs club, the staff always ask me can I make them their lunches lol

As they say “as one door closes, another one opens” I hope it leads you to something truly wonderful”

    You will be missed!

From both my son and I

    Farewell and warmest wishes xxx

      Good morning, Penelope,

I apologize for taking so long to respond to the beautiful message you left me. The first time I read it, tears clouded my eyes to the point where I could barely make out the words. Later, I read it aloud to Bob—truly absorbing the heart and intention behind every word. By then, the tears were streaming.

It’s incredible to realize what happens behind the scenes—not just in my life, but in the lives of others who’ve been touched by my work. I had no idea. Your letter was a powerful reminder of that, and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share it with me. I will forever cherish your words.

As you’ve probably noticed, the site has remained online past the original July 15th deadline. Life threw a few curveballs my way, and I’ve had to shift my focus to more pressing matters. Because of that, the site remains as it is—for now. I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as things evolve.

In the meantime, here comes a big ol’ bear hug (for both of you!).

With love and blessings, amie sue

  20. Tessa Moulyn says:

Hi Amie, I have followed you off and on for so long and have so inspired by all your beautiful and tasty recipes. I have to say that very few of my concoctions ended up looking as lovely as yours but I bet they were almost as tasty. Whenever i was asked to bring some raw food to impress especially non-vegetarian people, your recipes were almost always the first I went to to look for inspiration. Thanks for all the wonderful food!

If you ever decide to dip your toes back into the world of blogging or recipe making, I’d love to know.

    Tessa, St. Albert, Alberta

    • amie-sue says:

      Good morning, Tessa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your message with me—it truly means a lot.

As you may have noticed, the site has remained up past the originally planned deadline of the 15th. Life threw a few unexpected things my way, and I’ve had to put the shutdown on hold for now.

I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as things progress. Your kind note and support are deeply appreciated.

Wishing many blessings to you and your family, amie sue

    Dear Amie-Sue,
How heartbroken I am to see that you are closing down our beloved `Nouveau Raw` . Your site was the best thing on the internet culinary scene for raw and cooked foodies alike. Your beautiful photography and attention to detail in recipes that you shared were outstanding. You even so generously shared your artwork and crafting ideas as well as kitchen tips on decorating with plants and how- to`s for organization and packaging with us. Your content on Nouveau Raw was first class all the way . I kept going back to visit on a regular basis to check up and revisit a much loved site with wonderful content that was unmatched online . I was so hoping that you would add new posts one of these days. Then I saw the letter saying you were closing down for good ! Argh !!! You will be soooo missed by me and so many others who loved and appreciated your dedication to the culinary arts. Your site really inspired me to try new things out of my comfort zone. I even bought a dehydrator and had so much fun with it ( adore that French Garden Bread ). I want you to know that your site was a peaceful and creative oasis in our sometimes chaotic world . Thank you Amie Sue for creating this lovely and charming place for all of us to enjoy all these years . I love and appreciate how you shared your creative spirt and good humor in all that you do and wish you all the best for your ongoing adventures in life . Please keep us posted on the next chapter of creativity whatever that may bring. Books, classes and more . Looking forward to hearing about that . With much love and hugs .

      Good morning, Lee,

I sincerely apologize for the delay in responding. I’ve been navigating some family emergencies that have taken a toll on many aspects of my life—including the process of shutting down the site.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kind and generous words. They touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes. To say I’m heartbroken over this decision is truly an understatement. The outpouring of love and support from you and others has moved me in ways I never expected. I had no idea how deeply connected and invested so many people were in my work.

Nouveauraw has been a tremendous blessing in my life. Like many of you, I’ve grown and learned so much through the process of documenting my culinary journey—as well as other creative endeavors beyond food.

I will absolutely keep everyone updated. For now, the site remains online. I had intended to begin the shutdown process, but due to ongoing family matters requiring my full attention, that has been delayed. Until I’m able to dedicate the necessary time, the site will stay up.

Again, thank you for filling my heart with such love and support.

With gratitude and blessings, amie sue
