How quickly things can change …

LoadingFavoriteAdd to favorites
Good morning, afternoon, or evening (whenever this message is reaching you).

I wanted to give you a little site and life update. Currently, I am silently sitting beside my dad as he drifts in and out of sleep due recovering from his quadruple bypass surgery.

Everything happened so quickly once I received the phone call notifying me of his heart attack. I suddenly found myself 1,437 miles away from my home… dazed, yet ever so blessed to be holding my dad’s hand in mine as he recovers. I had hoped to reach out sooner with this email, but I haven’t had the time or energy to even open my computer.

With all of this going on, I am going to miss out on releasing a few recipes during this week and possibly the next. It all depends on how things go. I will be staying with dad in the hospital but also for whatever time is required since I will be his primary caretaker at home.

So please forgive me that I can’t hold up my obligation on nouveauraw as promised. Once I find my rhythm back here, I will get back on track and see what I can whip up in my dad’s kitchen to share with you.  But first I need to give it an overhaul as I try to entice him into a healthier eating lifestyle.

In the meantime, keep leaving recipe comments and questions. I will answer them as time permits. I can’t express enough how much your support means. In the meantime, I will be dreaming up my next creations, knowing the excitement I get from sharing them with you.
blessings, amie sue

As you know, I love your recipes. I’m so grateful that you’ve created this website. I’ve used so many recipes from you. Speaking for myself, I’m perfectly content with the current content; if you don’t post anything new for some indefinite period of time, it’s no hardship for your fans. :)
I’m glad you were able to travel to be with your Pops while he recovers. Take it easy!

Amie Sue, nothing is as important as family and especially our parents. They brought us into this world & they are the ones who comes first, because without them we wouldn’t be here. My prayers are with you and your father & Bob. Thank God he survived!! It will take time & patience & Thank God you are there to take care of him. Please don’t worry about “Nouveauraw.com” We all understands & love you.

I always place my hands on my dad’s heart for hours to help with energy. Plus a Teddy Bear if he can see it, I did a Grizzly Bear and made him dance and then my dad laughed.

Hi Amie Sue – Just checking to see how your Dad is doing. I hope all is well.

    • amie-sue says:

Good morning. Thank you so much for checking it. How sweet. :) My dad is doing pretty good. He got a slight infection in the incision site but each day gets better. Like anything else, healing is a bit like a roller coaster. Filled with ups and downs. We are waiting for the results of a CT and xrays to see how the sternum is healing. Such an amazing healing process. Thank you again for asking. amie sue
