Oooooodles of Nooooodles!! Who wants the calories? Not me! Who wants the carbs? Not me!
Who wants processed starchy food? Not me!
Who wants to give up noodles? Not me!
I don’t know about you but I had never heard of a “Spiralizer” prior to dabbling with raw food recipes. I have to say that I am sorry it took so many years to discover because it is one fun machine to use! The most common vegetable used is the mighty zucchini. But it’s not limited to just that. As you know, zucchini doesn’t have a huge amount of flavor much like a standard cooked egg noodle. Let’s face it, pasta is basically a vehicle to carry sauce.
I have had a lot of fun introducing zucchini noodles to my friends and family. For starters they are shocked as to how good they are and how easily they can replace noodles which are loaded in carbs and calories. And what a neat way to bring some fun into the kitchen with kids. These machines are so easy to use that your children could be making the noodles while you are preparing the sauce! I have had numerous people share with me that they normally don’t care for zucchini yet they end up loving the noodles. You can spitalize about any root vegetable. Turning a not so exciting veggie into something extraordinary!
When it comes to spiralizers there are many different styles on the market. They come in different shapes, sizes and costs but in the end they do the same things. Granted there are a few that come with a few extra blades which allows you to make different size noodles. The two that I have listed below are the ones that I use. I love them both. They are easy to use, easy to clean and inexpensive. I highly recommend both or either one of these.
