Coconut Nut- Free Crust

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

I am always desiring recipes that don’t include nuts.  I love nuts and so do most of my friends and family.  But I do have a few close ones that don’t tolerate them to well,  so it has become my mission to find or create new recipes that they too can eat and enjoy.   Today, I came up with this recipe based on what I had in the pantry.

Raw crusts are amazing and so different from the standard cooked pastry crusts.  You can use a raw crust as just that, a crust or you can use it as a topping on a desserts, in between layers in a parfait or yogurt.  Heck, you could even sprinkle it on a salad.

Ingredients for Nut- Free Crust!

  • 2 cups coconut flakes, unsweetened
  • 10 Mejool dates, pitted
  • 3 Tbsp raw cold pressed coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup flax meal (ground flax seeds)
  • 1 tsp ground  cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

  1. In your food process, blend all the ingredients together until it sticks together when you press it between your fingers.
  2. In the Springform pan press your crust batter into the bottom and press firmly.
  3. Set aside while you make your fillings.
