Vanilla Frosting (raw, GF, vegan)

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

A frosting that is easy to make and good for you?  Who ever thought frosting could be described as such?!  I love this frosting,  it’s not sugary sweet tasting.

  • 1 1/2 cups raw cashews (soaked for 2 hours)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp raw agave nectar
  • 3 Tbsp raw cold pressed coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
  2. Place in fridge to achieve a thicker consistency and spread on cake when you’re ready to serve.

Hello! I have a raw chocolate pie recipe I love but I’m looking for a vanilla to top it with. Maybe in a spring form so it’s a choc vanilla layered cake. I was thinking one of your vanilla frosting’s but how well does it harden? Thanks for your time, Farrah~

      Hello Farrah,
This frosting won’t get really hard. When I use it, I keep the dessert in the fridge or freezer until ready to eat and then return left-overs back to the chiller. If you give it a try, keep me posted. Have a wonderful day, amie sue

I am going to be making a cake with fondant on it…typically you’d put a layer of frosting underneath the fondant. Would this type of frosting do well with fondant? Or would it be too moist? Also, how long can this sit out before it starts to get too runny?

    Hello Hayley,

I don’t think this would work well under fondant, too moist. I have another recipe that might work for that but I need to write it up and post it. I will try to do that soon. Have a great weekend, amie sue
